VAC Student Gallery Show Announcement: Deconstructed

16 Sep

Featured Student Work: Sage Graham – We All Have Eyes, but Do We See?

Thanks to everyone who submitted work to our September show! This show has been curated by our lovely Gallery Coordinator, Erin Hoskins, who searched for commonalities in the works submitted and noted the number of submissions that focused on breaking down lines, subject matter and color planes. The show will be called “Deconstructed” and will hang in the VAC Student Gallery in the long corridor of the Simons Center.

If your work made it into the show, place it in the 4th floor hallway of the Cato center (the main painting studio) by Tuesday, September 20th. Framing will take around a week, and the show is tentatively scheduled for installation on Friday, September 30th.

If you’d like to see all of the work that was submitted for this show, visit our Online Gallery!

Here are the works that made the cut this month! This list is not in order of how it will be hung on the wall:

1. Allison Evans- Perception 4

2. James Wine- My Sweet Fey

3. Molly Martien- 1

4. Paige Feighly- Landscape

5. Laura Volkening- Untitled 2

7. Alizey Khan- Lady of the Lake

8. Grace Musser- Ambition/Amplification

9. Sarah Cooke- Little Boy

10. Katie Bayag- Passion

11. Sophie Treppendahl- The Hand and the Chair

12. Elle Brewer- Eyes of Summer

13. Emily Stein- Beetles and Flies

14. Tiffany Nichols- West Fall

Thank you for viewing! If you submitted work that didn’t make it, don’t worry- this show was selected with a theme in mind and there are loads of amazing pieces we loved that didn’t make in the show it this month. Try again in the future- work you’ve already submitted has a chance of being selected for a differently themed show, too!
